Shell Beach

The top of the trail down to Shell Beach, Sonoma County, California. One of my favorite beaches throughout my 20+ years of living in Sonoma County.

As both a kid (and even now as an adult) I can easily get lost in the many tidal pools full of hermit crabs, sea anemones, and starfish.

And, of course, I *always* manage to slice my foot on a sharp rock and bleed all on the sand. Something about the cold water numbs the cut so you don't know you have it until it if full of sand.

This was taken on a windy early afternoon before the fog had completely burned off, like is often the case in the mid-morning on this coast line.
