Jealous No More

On July 3, 2009, Southern Pacific 4449 launched its first leg of a 7 day journey to the mid west on July 3rd. It's route was from Portland, OR, to my current town of residence, Spokane, WA. Given a long love affair with this locomotive (that started when I was only three years old), I couldn't pass up the opportunity to foam at her.

~rdw283 and I left around 8:30 and drove three hours to the Oregon border, where we caught-up with her near the massive McNary Dam.

This was one of the first shots of the day.

The excitement of seeing her was enough to get my heart racing, which lead to an increase of botched shots at this first stop.

But the shooting was only the excuse to see her, it was really about seeing the locomotive that left the biggest impression on me as a child, gracefully running down mainlines once again.
